I know, I need this like I need a second you know what but for $375 I couldn't resist it. It'll probably end up with a DT1 motor of some sort, or for something different my fully rebuilt Cooper/Moto Islo 250. I've got all the bodywork, wheels and most of the needed bibs'n'bobs so this'll be a cheapo tracker. I'll also be able to tell folks I've got two Cheney's ;D....(this one's made by American Jerry, my other by British Eric, no relation.)

Cheney small bore flattrack frame. Has had it share of repairs and mods. Not sure what motor the mounts are for. It was originally nickel plated, has been painted. Asking $375.00 for frame and swingarm. I can deliver this to Davenport Iowa this week.

It's getting that way I suppose but I'm an amateur compared to a number of others. It's better in Oz than America though, the more the merrier.

The growing influence of Classic Flattrackers here in OZ makes me think that a Test series between us & a team from US could & should be a goer, I am talking moderns initially but the old bikes could naturally follow on.
Peter Lee ( The Don ) has recently kicked some serious arse for in the US over the last 2 years.
Thinking out loud but the square is getting smaller.

One of little Italian 350cc V twins (Thinking thinking what was the brand???) would be a neat match up there Firko ;)

Moto Morini!!!!! :D

Moto Morini! Jeez Tim I haven't seen one of those in years. A girl I once worked with had one and I remember her telling me how slow it was! I've got two other flat trackers all but ready to go so this one will be built up out of stuff I've got laying around. I like the Moto Islo option or maybe my C77 305 Honda twin ;D

With the stock frame rule being used in both countries it might be a good thing if limited to the CRF YZF KTM ATK etc style stock framers. I personally hate the stock frame rule and would rather see framers but if they were allowed the Yanks would have it all over us.

The Classic riders will be before the moderns albeit in the US, have already spoken with Paul Covert (Kanzas Fair series) and it may go ahead in 2013. Be nice to have 3 riders (any interested partys), we will have 2. Be held over a 4 race series, potentially could include another 3 races in Sturgis, all within 8 days, early August. Still in the process but Paul mentioned it to me again after we had spoke briefly about it last year. The Kanzas series paid out over $22,000 US to the pro's this year, Dave Durell took the bulk of it I'm sure.

Sounds good Pete, you & Grasy will fly the flag well, how good would it be to see 4 of today's leading riders from both here & US on 450's going hard at it?

Would love nothing more than to see 2 or 3 or 10 grids of the American style Flat Trackers in Oz as I reckon they look horn and look like they should do the business.
Have seen a few quicks (albeit 30 odd years ago) try them here in Oz, for what ever reason they just could'nt seem to get them working on our Oz Short Circuits/Dirt Tracks. Recolections of that time seemed be ground clearance, stop bends frame geometry were the problems. Not neccasarily in that order.
Using Pete Lee and Grasy as the bench marks I reckon that they would/will be be quicker on most tracks most of the time on there Honda framed XL350's.
Now, stand by and watch them or anyone else that rides a Flat Tracker prove me wrong.

I remember a lad, from around Rockdale , Peter Boyne I think his name was, in the late '60s early '70s he used to punt an A65 tracker around on Short Circuit, went pretty well on it too, he was a B grader, I think.
How good was Kurt to watch on his Bonneville tracker at Canberra last weekend ??

Can't remember the name Peter Boyne Foss, but you are right about Kurt on the Trumpy. Fast as all get out and pretty to watch. Do you know much about the bike Foss. Had a bit of a yarn to his old man on the day (nice fella). He was telling me that Kurt did quite a bit of Junior Dirt Tracking when he was young before getting...............aaahh come on Foss you tell the story.

Don't know much about Kurt, just that he went very well in Brissy, and the bike, nice lookin', a Redline ?, T120V with what looked like alloy barrels, ? 750 ?, half mile inlets, short headers and meggas, it sounded crisp and handled the right hander pretty good and Kurt was backing it in to the sweeper like a skids bike, gunna be interesting at the Nats.
