Title: tm 250 fork seals

hi all, i need to replace the fork seals in my 74 tm 250, do i have to undo the nut on the inside of the forks at the bottom or do i just pull the slider from the bottom half...silly question to some, this is my first older bike!!  any help greatly appreciated.

Yep, you need to undo that allen bolt ( I assume this is what you mean when you say nut?) on the inside at the bottom. Drain the oil first. Undo the screw using a suitable allen key then slide the fork lower off. A rattle gun is prefered as the screws are (should always be) installed with a locking compound which can some times cause the screw to spin the inner damping rod. If you don't have a rattle gun then find a suitable hammer to hit the allen key and loosen the screw with a sharp shock.
