Title: YZ125K Starting Issues when cold?
Post by: mudguard on August 09, 2012, 08:51:20 pm
Another Yamaha with starting issues.
My YZ125K has issues starting with the kick start ( when cold ). It will start if pushed / clutch start, then it will run perfectly all day. Once bike is started it will kick start easily for the rest of the day. The next morning it hates me again  >:(
I always use fresh 98 octane fuel with 30:1 ratio Motul 800 oil. NGK BR9EG-N-8 spark plug.
Could the low speed coil be the issue?

Sounds a bit like a weak spark as the push starting is getting the motor spinning over quite a bit faster.

Compression is ok but I dont know what to expect from a 125, as Im used to the compression from my 250. A couple of mates have ridden the bike and are impressed with the bike. Just wont kick start when cold.
