Hi fellow Motocrossers, I love that word, MOTOCROSS! My pants are looking pretty shabby after a year and a half's racing and as they don't seem to last too long I don't want to spend big bucks on a new pair. Has anyone come across a brand they are really happy with? I need a pair with a full leather insert on the inside of the knees. I have burnt through both side of mine hanging on for dear life as I go at lightening speed through the corners ;D. Yes each bike has the exhaust on the opposite side.

Ken I have a set of Metros. The only thing wrong is that name but that aside I reckon ther well made ,they do have a leather / suade (is that how you spell it?) inner on both legs. They have a range of period syles as well. Pricing is good especially with the US dollar at the moment. Cheers Jerry

Ken I don't race but do a lot of trail riding & vinduros. My pant of choice is the Klim brand Ilike the over boot Dakar pant they also do in boot styles. These pants are used by some of the top Dakar racers. Curly

I have a set of Thor gear that has lasted me 13 years, and are still in greta shape (although a bit faded), I have had other gear since that has come and gone, but the Thor stuff is still in the bottom of the gear bag (doesn't fit my waist as well as it used to)
Try and avoid the Johnny 'O replica answer gear, lasted about 3 months and just fell to bits.

+1 with Thor pants, mine are over 5 years old.

either Thor or Fox (I prefer the Thor) bought from Dennis Kirk in the States. If you dont need up to the minute fashion you can buy last years models for up to 75-85% off - genuine gear, good service and prices. I had some Metros but the inner lining failed real quick.

I think my JT pants were about $150, they are the best quality pants I think I have ever worn!

JT or metro if you can still get them.
Superior quality
Metro gloves are also superb

Metro well sewn and well lined, going into there seventh odd year now.
Todays postage is a killer though :(

Thanks everyone for the feedback. That helps a lot.

Each brand usually has three different ranges of Quality. You generally pay for what you get. Buy the mid to top of the range in any brand and they will serve you well. I have no loyalties and have Thor, MSR, Shift and Answer gear, with no problems with any of them. Go for a color and style you like and buy the mid to top of range and you will be happy.

If wearing knee guards, we find the leather inside leg patch lasts longer on the mx pants than the nylon. 8)
