Title: what is the youngest age allowed to race vmx?

my daughter is 13 and races modern mx and wants to race vmx also. anyone know? i think its 16.thanks.

Yes, 16.

Some clubs - including Heaven - run junior races at VMX meetings.

There was an attempt to have 2 Junior classes at this years Classic DT Titles in Canberra but MA said no.
If there's room in the program, why not.

 At the other end of the scale, is the Classics at Canberra hving a 'Super Seniors' event as was at Griffith?

All depends on numbers Punchy, I was working on the theory that if I hung in there long enough I might JAG one.
I am only 18 years away, a lot can happen between now & then, my opinion is it should be 60yo.

16 years of age.
back in the 70`s there were Sub juniors class.

I think if we want to race as per the 70's, then the classes should as such ........ 14 - 16 sub juniors up to 125.

It goes against my original thoughts but when I speak to other old bastards who ride and have kid's who also race, for me it's a no brainer.
Junior, 125 2 Stroke and 250 4 stroke should be the 2 classes, if not enough then chuck em in together, that's pretty much how it works today.

When I was a junior ride in 72-73, we could ride 125, 250, 400, 500, their was no limit.

Must've been different in Mexico, I was racing Speedway at SRA club days when I was 14, once I started to win a few meetings I got banned until I reached 17 and that was 1977.

WE HAVE  A 13-15 JUNIOR CLASS VMX BMCC
LAST 2 YEARS HAVE NOT HAD ENOUGH TO MAKE A CLASS

In Auckland Unzud  kids ride at lunch time and after meet (any age) if 14 yr old good enough strat off back with orange vest and get watched,if ok can join in.

My boys competed in solo Junior VMX races in Victorian events from about 20 years ago ,not withstanding they were not infrequently the only juniors and ...snuck in ;)... with the bucket or 125 classes .  Oh aged about 10 and 12 years respectively.
Later at the more mature 12 and 14 ages they started with the VMX sidecar scene on a very rough (but quick) Yamaha RT360 outfit. Tim754
