What be it ??? bolted to my coil. Is it for lights?

i would say its a AC regulator for lights. has it only got that 1 yellow wire?

Yep
The yellow splits into 2 greens. One goes back to the subframe with a plug on the end, the other goes into a tapep up mess where one wire emerges and goes to the stator, and others are just plugged nowhere. Sounds like it's wired for lights eh.

Whatcha meen LWC, by a trick stator.

Will I be right to just disconnect this regulator?

What it means is that as well as the pick up coil for the ignition, there would be a lighting coil.
As long as the output wire doesn't short out anywhere, it is fine to disconnect.
