Title: KX500A 83 CDI AND OR STATOR STILL NEEDED

After KX500A  83 CDI unit and or stator to buy or lend need to hear motor running to see if any engine work is needed. Have stator, it seemed to ohm up ok but using 250 cdi and sparked only a couple of times and weak.Wiring colours are different as well so only using uneducated guess work.Some parts cross reference list say newer ones fit has any one tryed this,using later model parts.Or would you have use the whole set to get it to run?Any suggestions welcome.

Any one have experience in using late model parts, any ideas?

Maybe send it all down to Small Coil Rewinds in Geelong and get them to test the whole lot. Thats what I did. There is also a new CDI on ebay at the moment.

Thanks to all that helped me out,should be ok when some parts turn up.
