I have never seen one in OZ. Have you ridden one and what was it like?

Bultaco was past it's use by date by then, there were a few around back in the day. You'd have to ride that in Evo and it wouldn't be competitive there, it's several years behind the other '78 bikes in technology.

Yeah...everything Johnny O said. By 1979 Bultaco and all of the Spanish manufacturers in general were fighting a losing battle with multi million dollar Japanese R&D budgets and a rapidly failing Spanish enconomy. You'd have to trick it up a fair bit to make it competitive in Evo which would take away the originality of what is otherwise a cool piece of Spanish motocross history.

I think Mark Austin has one.

I think Mark Austin has one.
He did/does.
Apparently they're super rare in Australia.
I made a joke about scrap metal, the seller was genuinely horrified and explained the tiny numbers that were sold here.

I had Mark Austins Mk11 Pursang in my shed for a few weeks after picking it up from Nathans and I was secretly hoping Mark had forgotten it and that I'd get to keep it. A really nice bike.

With an ignition, mikuni, emulators and shocks would be as good as anything else around. Love it.

The Frontera version isn't uncommon & is very similar. I had one for a while. Steered very nicely, handled sweetly, well balanced, good broad power, very nice to ride (esp if yr used to euro gear change).
But for VMX racing? 35mm forks & sprocket a looong way from swingarm pivot means suspension is limited in the class

If it's anything like the mk9 370 pursang i had in 76' it would be an absolute gem - great broad tractable power, handle like it was on rails , and a first or second kick starter every time - sweet bike ;)

Haha, you've got to be kidding! It's still got a gearbox with 15 neutrals, spindly forks, underpowered, no brakes and you have to run it in Evo where YZ465's and 490 Maicos will eat it and spit it out the back as compost..!

Good to see you back Mr O :)
