Title: Free Bultaco
Post by: HVA61 on June 25, 2012, 03:14:46 pm
Free Bultaco

I have in my possession a Bultaco , that has suffered a conversion to road racer of sorts.

I know little of its history and i dont what model it was , but i figure that somebody would like to own it. (for the engine alone)

Free to good home

must be gone before Friday this week (not negotiable on the gone before Friday)

If you want it , PM me your email address and i will send a photo

I'll second that bugger, and check out the two BUltaco Lobito's on Aust ebay at the moment one is a definite M19 100cc the other maybe a 125,both set up for road racing at around $850 each.

Would these be able to be used for bucket racing?

A Bultaco with #100 on it is interesting.
Any Idea of it's history?
Does the name Buttler come in there anywhere?
Lucky man, I spotted it just a few minutes after the sold sign was put up.
Are you sure it was set up for road racing, looks like possibly a Flattrack set up to me.

Mick, looking at the #100 on yellow plates makes me think it originally raced in Vic,all historic roadracers ran yellow plates down there up to middle 80's from memory, freaked me out 1st time i did Sth Classic at winton,a 250 ducati with yellow (500)number boards!!,(was thinking, shit long stroke??) Slidey,it's got "bitd" Dunlop KR76/3's onit, triangulars don't work on dirt track too good i would imagine ::),but i did suggest to Mick D he sticks knobbies onit coz Heavens' CRC grasstrack aint got no jumps to interfer with the bullys low pipe 8), :P

It looks like a Mk 2,3,4 Pursang (Mod 42 48 68) That has been roadracerified.

Its a boat tail on a boat trailer  :D ;D

Yes I took it by Matcho's on the way home for the low down. I am way stoked. Uncanny set of circumstances. The frame is nickle plated and Mick gave me some stuff to clean it up and bring it back up. We tried it in a couple of places, works great.

Yep, I am absolutely stoked, for way more reasons than anyone could possibly imagine :)

Yes Moto, your right. It is a model 1968 mk3 model 48 250 Pursang indeed.

I printed a model list and took it with me. At first when I saw the engine number began with a four I thought it was a pre65 mount.

But I couldn't stop wondering why it had a boat tail on it?
So I stopped and checked it again. 48 not 4  :o only two hours sleep last night ::)

The rather high mounted rear set foot pegs and controls would also be a little uncomfortable on dirt track ;D

Okay, okay, okay, I stand corrected, you guy's have shown me the light.
Talk about gang up on a bloke while he's down, lucky I've got thick skin.
Jim, I'm not really interested what you "bang" when you're in a far off hotel room, that's a mental picture I'll have to live with now.

Brilliant score Mick. I was told it was a shitbox so didn't think too hard about it. By the look of the bike in the photos it's a long way from shitbox status so it's gone to a good home.

Trying to clean up the Free Bully. Did I tell ya's it was Free. Any how it was free.

Didn't impress me that much on the nickle frame.

But I tried it on the aluminium engine cases and Borani rims. Best shit I have ever used on aluminium. I will be waiting for the doors to open in the morn to grab the last five cans.

Well if there is, we'll be buying it. Right after get my Babe gets castanets, tap-dancing lessons and have I have learnt how tap my foot on the floor boards and urge her on with a few "oles". I wonder if they have a Spanish version of "Go Baby, Go Baby,oh yeh Iam right behind you, go Baby, Go baby. Geez I love that song,,,,, nearly as much as my free Bully ;D he, he, he.
