I've just had my first outing with my Rm 370A at pratice yesterday at Bedrock (Biddaddabah) and all went well.
Not as scary a power band as every person I've spoke to in the past 2 years whilst I was restoring the bike. I was surprised with how much it pulled down low in the rev range.
The manual says SAE 20-40 however am having trouble finding that grade.
The engine has had a complete rebuid from top end to bottom end and gearbox.
What is everyone using in the pre '78 bikes??
The manual says NOT to us ATF.
Cheers Terry ;D

Go to any bike shop and buy 10w30 gear oil of any reputable brand...any good 2 stoke gearbox oil will be fine.

Penrite do a full synthetic MC-2ST or semi-synthetic MC-SST specifically for motorcycles and listed to suit Suzuki models.
Pretty sure they do a 20W40 as well if you want to be perdantic.

Super cheap sell it in either 1 litre bottles ...MTX 75/80 same shelf as 2 / stroke oil ;)
Or 4 litre bottles ...VMX M 75 /85

IF you use the heavier VMX80 or even a 75/80 you will loose HP. It's better to use a lighter weight oil and change it more often.
In the Rally Gemini I used one oil-a 30w and it went in both engine and box-but was changed every event, using the adage that oil is cheaper than rebuilds.
