yeah Bill it's a supa nice pipe!..it could be a Bill's pipe! ;D an' you can flick the rest of what you don't want onto me..it's the chrome bore model but I don't mind and I won't charge you..really ;D
-
hi Doc
do the ts185a have a chrome bore to?
TT5 Matt
-
no Matt..only the 250. Oversizes available for the '76 TS185 ;)
-
that explains why the ts250a i was given has a earlier non painted barrel on it with a screw type exhaust clamp
TT5 Matt
-
a screw on exhaust? :o Must have been a 69 model barrell

seen a couple of those covers sell in the past few months CG..not quite as sought after as the 125 item but still handy to have if you want to play with TM250L and M's obviously ;)
Bill, I was just kidding :P but, if you are seriously thinking of bidding and there are bits you don't want then for sure..will happily accept any unwanted pre '78 suzuki bits especially the poor ol' TS.
Matt, the early model 69/70 TS250 barrels are the go as this model ran the TM type rubber spigot carb mount ing and not the bolt on flange type used there after. Speaking of 69/70 TS250's, I saw a pic of a beaut '69 TS250 the other day and it has given me waaay too much food for thought. Scott Andersen in the US just recently completed this bike. They say the best form of flattery is imitation..I now want to build one of my own ;)

That sure is a nice bike, if you can you should contact the builder and ask what parts he used and from which models and list it here.
-
Doc, Would that TS pic be a Green one? if so itsa bloody nice example
-
Pokey..ummm..a green one..hmmm.. ;)..noooo..this was a red one! bling bling!..here's the before pic (http://us.a2.yahoofs.com/groups/g_11844504/a958/__sr_/cf7c.jpg?grYJ39HBrtPnsxH4)
Mick, the owner (Scott)will quite freely give details and has done so on the Yahoo TM Suzuki forum. That's where I lifted the pics from ;D
Here's mine as it sits now. The bottom pic is a bike owned by OZ vmx'er Neville Shepherd.

'72-'76 models are fine but the early '69/'70 model get my vote. Incidently I have just dragged out the 73 roller today in the hope of making a start on the the project. I banged my head on the bars splitting my brow and near on knocking me out :o I proceeded to bleed like a stuck pig and this was very unpleasant so the project came to a halt whilst I issued some emergancy patching repairs to myself but I'll be back!! Tonight!! ;) The pic of the red TS above almost looks like Australia but it's US ;)
-
Geez louise :o
did he find that in the barn or under it?
What did you do to the shock mounts on your baby Doc?
I had an L model that wasnt too bad on the road but was a bit heavy to chuck around in the forest, front wasnt bad just the heavy arse end and the fat tank
-
Pokey my shocks do seem a little cantered forward. I noticed this once before then didn't think about it again. So far as I knew it was all kinda stock but some pics show different :-\ maybe a TS400 swingarm??..it came with TS400 forks and alloy wheels so I guess it follows suit the swingarm could be from the same donor..good chance it's a little longer than stock if it is..will take a good look tomorrow morn.
-
i go past Jap dismantlers all the time what do you guys want off it or you want me to get the whole thing if its still there ? i can post it to you ?
-
that's very kind of you Freaky :) me, myself and I speaking as one would like the pipe if a deal could be swung somehow, the rest including the mag cover is not essential as I'm going to build a TS/TM250K/J/L/M/A/B model anyway ;D I have most bits except the pipe..I've a stock TS250 pipe for emergency back-up and even though it cuts the noise considerably 1 can assume it will sap performance even more ;D I'd like to get the whole thing but then I'd need to go out back and shoot myself cause I really don't need it! yet :P just the pipe would be cool but if not, no hassles, a downpipe would be far cooler 8)
-
ok so thats a no ? then.
-
yeah, thanks but no thanks Freaky, if it were in Bris. it would be a different story but it's too much trouble for too little for me ;)
-
Thought about it , nah got too many projects on the go 8) thanks all the same Freaky
-
ANy of these parts fit into the TM 250 ? like is it a 74 frame ?:?????
-
basically a '74 TM250 frame with tabs/holes for lights, different footrests. Motors bolt straight in, triples bolt on, I think the rear loop is a little longer but yup..should pretty much be the same frame when it comes to engine fitting and geometry. The frame 'maybe but I don't think so' a little different on the right for the upswept exhaust but that goes behind the TM covers anyway. Also the rear brake pedal pivot is different. My TMS250 project will be utilizing a 73 TS frame for the simple reason I don't feel bad modifying it if I need or want to. Why don't you drop in and take a look at it for yourself..
-
did it say it was a 76 model ? im assuming they satyed the same as the 73 then from what you are saying. JUst unless my 74 stuff fits straight in i dont need more junk.
-
take a look Freaky..that's the easiest, I'm not going to over commit myself. I use this stuff all the time and mix and match and swap and change and I make things fit if they don't. I can't say for certain it would all bolt 'straight' up but I can say for certain I'm using 74 TM cases, 73 TS frame and whatever else will bolt on to get me rolling. The 76 TS frame would work for me..it's probably closer to 74 TM than my 73 frame is. Forks and clamps are a mm different but you'll probably find the TS clamps/forks are lighter anyways ;)
-
freaky
Front is pretty much the same . Different in the rear end department .....So hack away
-
the covers getting up to the $100 mark now, wonder if it will get over 100..???.
I just punched in bike australia on ebay and the first ADB Mag and no 2,no 4 and no 5 are up for sale.
-
makes the ebay bike seem all the more attractive for parts if nothing else. You could probably assume the mag cover on the TS has damage in some regards but the pics are not large enough to see with any clarity. If it is 76 it should have alloy wheels also with possibly no cracking. the clutch cover, mag cover are TM items. The pipe is obviously Bassani or something and with or without a rub back and coat of paint is worth $50+ every day of the week. For the $ it's good value but for me it's the location that's most important for parts bikes ;)
oldfart, you won't forget about those homeless honda's will you ;D I was given a vintage car yesterday ::) well it's pre '85 anyway. A little green gemini..I've whacked it straight on egay for some cd-5 fuel and gourmet roadside diner funding ;) wish I could have '84 model bikes given to me but one can't be overly picky..not a bad little car but alas..it's a car not a bike so it goes..ebay item 170209185088..Suit Kawasaki enthusiast :D Could be a nice thing if fitted with a big block! ;)

danke schön ;)

went to suss out that bike for you folk. but its no longer there, someguy bought it.
But given the diescription of the chap who took it away im prity sure i know who it is, and have a fair idea he wont be using half of it.
if its that guy he may use the wheels and possibly the forks, nothing else as he doesnt have any MX Suzi stuff, he is all period road.
Ill get the heads up and see if there is anything he dont want before he bins it

mag cover sold for $117 don't know the postage price..
