Some awsome bikes.  A Vinduro with not an IT,PE KDX or XR to be seen. It's a pitty that most of those European bikes didn't make it to Australia, or they were in such small numbers, there is none to be found now.

Beautiful bikes in a in a beautiful part of the world  :) over 300 competitors entered the event held in June . It would appear that the event was a tragic event though as the rider of the Beta #602 died of a suspected heart attack during the event  :(

For such a small Euro market in Australia the number of orphan/boutique Euro marques represented at Victorian Vinduros is remarkable (particularly compared to interstate events). We have Montesa, Can-am, SWM, Hercules, Jawa, Aspes, Rokon, Ossa, Bultaco, CZ, Husqvarna, Maico, KTM -  that I can quickly think of,- all making regular appearances. Big John, I did notice the '74 XL250 Motosport in the Parc Ferme and also on course - it was probably the relatively rarest bike in that group! :P

I just like the European bike, Most of wich are hand built not mass produced. I know the effort it takes to restore, find parts for and keep one going.
Yes I know there are some great European Bikes getting around at the few vinduros I've done.
By the way I carn't wait to have a good lookat your Hercules.

It looks something like this.
Because I respect the owner I won't mention the 'man bag' or the toolbox at the ready :D

Was this shot taken by the photographer toting a white camera with a particularly long shoulder strap? ::)

Bill, the forks are Ceriani and the hub is a Grimeca.
The bike is a good ride but a little light on for ground clearance. Some suspension tweaking might be coming up to help with this.....
