Title: CR Shock Linkage Kit
Post by: PCMAX on May 28, 2012, 08:05:07 pm
Does anyone know if you can buy an aftermarket kit (bearings & bushes) for rebuilding the rear shock linkages for a 1982 CR125??
I've had a look at the All Balls and Pivot Works websites but they only have swingarm kits.

HI PCMax,

I'm having the same problem with my 84 250. A few guys on this forum suggested I pull the old parts out, measure up the bushes and the swingarm and have new ones made up at a local fitter. I haven't pulled the back end apart yet to see what shape they are but not a bad thought really. For the bearings, I needed wheel bearings the other day and the bearing place around the corner had no problem at all giving me an exact match for the old ones at a cheaper price than I could buy online. I recon the swingarm bearings would be the same.

KJ,
bikebandit.com have replacement OEM bushes &  bearings for my 125 they may also have OEM's for your 250. I can get all the bits for around $120 + shipping from the USA which could be $50 or $60 from experience.
I haven't yet compared that to the exhorbitant prices from Honda AUS but they are generally about double what they charge in the states. I think that Julia must have something to do with that..... or maybe the Japanese think we are a soft touch and very wealthy
