Title: Nice YZ
Post by: firko on May 24, 2012, 03:22:33 pm
I've posted this photo of someone's YZ360A from this morning's Marks Swapmeet for no other reason than my liking it. This is the basic look I'm heading for with my upcoming Hindall RT2MX....without the black wheels.

YEp nice looking bike, there is also a black and a yellow version of these with the orginal swoop graphics.  They look prity horny with just a simple tank colour change. im planning on doing one with a yellow tanks and swoop soon, but im keeping that to myself till i do it  ;)

So Mark, you are building a RT1 into YZ, what is the differents between each frames, other than being chrome-moly.

Geoff - that pipe nearly looks like it could fit the 360B as well?  The works pipe went right instead of left out of the motor?

Next time a works bike comes in I will check it out ;D

You trashed your pipe again already?

Where did you get that idea Dave? If you read what I wrote you'd see the words Hindall RT2MX, no mention of an RT1. The bike I'm building has a nickel plated 4130 chro-mo Harry Hindall frame and an RT2MX engine and fitted with YZA tank and bodywork. The RT1 frame and that of the YZA are totally different but you already knew that Dave ;). While we're here, I seem to remember a recent post where you told one and all that you weren't going to change your forum name any more. You wouldn't cop so much grief from punters if you didn't make such statements and then renege on them. Jusy my 2 bobs worth of advice. ;)

Ross if they went right how did that lose the tuned length in the pipe.  Would make sense to go that way as i hate the way it comes across the head, and also burn though so many sets of pants as its mostly left hand tunrs on most tracks.  BUt i wondered about going right but where to you put the lenght

Come on now Ross
What say we give it a month or so, that should give you enough time to think up some sort of worthy retort

Geoff - I refuse to lower myself to your level - and 2 x valium have helped  ;D

YZBs had left hand pipes but the works bikes had the right hand pipe like the one above.  Can't remember the make out of the US, but a friend of mine bought one Freaky that goes down the RH side.  Can get the details if need be.

My Cheney has a Pro-Form YZ360A pipe which is on the right side as you can see. I think it's similar to the pipe in my original top shot of the white YZ360. I had to do some cutting and shutting to get it to fit through my central airbox 'tunnel' and out the right side instead of the original left.

Freaky - out of the motor the YZB's turn left, A's turn right.  There is an aftermarket pipe for the B that matches the A model pipe and doesn't come back across the motor.

Rosco do you know if they could make the pipe for the yzb but the motor to be a SC500 ? .

Speaking of SC 500’s I need to borrow one to build a pipe to so I can stop a NZ customer from harassing me.

Anyone in Vic with one please give me a call.

I have some sc500's here Geoff can loan you bike or a just a pipe it that helps.

Same frame as the MX 250/360  and so is the pipe, only differance is the pipe diamater its larger so you can jig directly of any MXA you can find.

Thanks Freaky but a pipe isn't enough info to build a pipe from, too many clearance issues to make it work and getting a bike over from SA would be unfeasable.

Thanks also Iain
If you ever wonder over the ocean with room to bring it give me a hoy.
I do still have those templates on file too.
