Title: Header gasket for DG pipe on 465H
Post by: tony27 on May 19, 2012, 02:46:53 pm
I ordered the yamaha header gasket for my 465 during the week expecting some form of crush ring but it's just a thin aluminium disc, from memory when I had the pipe off last I worked out that there is quite a gap inside the pipe to the cylinder flange. What do people use?

The other thing I need to know is some dimensions & preferably a photo or 2 of the mount under the tank on a DG pipe, mine has had the vertical part cut off & I think that what I made up isn't right going on how it catches the head when fitting the pipe back on

Ended up having to make a aluminium spacer about 12mm long & sealed it with high temp silicon, guess I could have shortened the pipe where it fits over flange on the cylinder but it would have been difficult to have done it tidily.
I can see why the DG isn't held in high regard in the states now

I ordered 3 DG pipes from the US not so long ago. Not only did the F.. wits cut off stinger section to fit them in a smaller box! But the quality of the welds were VERY VERY poor  >:(
