If you still want a Ride in May 2012
The first Vinduro / Poker Run at Rockley will be the week-end of the 26th and 27th of May 2012 (sorry for the short notice but thats how the availability of the site worked out)
Entry forms will be available on The Manly Warringah Motor Cycle Inc. website soon.
Rockley will be the venue.
As previously advised the loop was already very good and it has been vastly improved.
To all riders interested that do not have a current competition license you will require a recreational licence. We can provide the Rec. license but will need to know prior to the event as we purchase the rec licences from MA.
Pre entry is our preference but you can enter on the day. If you enter on the day and require a rec. license but have not previously advised us of your intensions you will not have rec. license reserved for you therefore you will not be able to ride.
Camping is available on site (from Friday afternoon May 25th. )(No riding until the event starts on saturday morning)
Portable toilets will be available
Bring all your requirements for shelter , food and the fresh water you require for drinking.
“Entry forms will be available on the Manly Warringah Motor Cycle Club web site soon.”
Remember bikes must have headlights (no they don’t necessarily have to work) MX bikes with headlight fitted are very welcome
Prior to entries being received if you wish to reserve a rec. licence , email me.
[email protected] or [email protected].
I expect if we purchase a rec. license and it is reserved for a particular individual and that individual is a no show, we would still expect payment for the license . as previously stated we are only purchasing enough licences for confirmed event entrants.
The event entry fee will be $58.00 which covers both days.
The rec. licence fee will be $25.00 which covers both days.
Prizes will be presented to the three best poker hands on Saturday
Prizes will be presented to the three best poker hands on Sunday
Email me with any questions
Regards

Update No:1
For the riders that are fimiliar with the Rockley venue , you will be excited to know that we will be using the original and new grass tracks adjacent to the camping areas for this event , they will then hook up with the bottom grass track adjacent to the cattle yard before we head off into the bush.
So at a guess , the grass track will be approx . 4.5 km long , hows that for the start of each loop . I have been advised by Ribbo that there will be NO first gear corners on this grass track.
This will make the total loop approx. 15.0 km long
This is going to be fast fast fast

Bugger. I've just been reminded that I'm going to the World Trials that weekend.
Let me know if you need anything, HVA.

No first gear corners on the grass track, Ribbo's 490 has a four speed box, no first gear ;) we will see how it goes up against the Mighty Husky 500 Bullet :D and that pesky MTK 495 ;D

Today at Rockley we commenced the preparations for the upcoming event by slashing in the grass tracks.
This is how the track will be
Start
section 1 grass track 1.6km
section 2 grass track 1.8 km
section 3 grass track 1.1 km
these three sections flow on / back to back
section 4 (new) across the swamp up the hill into a nice fast / flowing section finishing on the other the side of the swamp at a sensational crossing . 1.1 Km
section 5 (new) fast flowing open section ( 800m)
Then back onto the original course which will have some further modifications in two weeks. These sections are approx. 12.0 km in length.
We anticipate that the overall course length will be in excess of 20.0 Km.
With the 4.5 km of flowing grass track in the first stages of the course and the remaining modified sections of the course, this will be a event not to miss. (best course we have set to date)

Hi
We spent the week-end at Rockley with a few of the lads finalising the course.
If you miss this you will be missing the best one to date.
The first , second and fifth sections are new.
You start with a 5.0 km , three section grass track.
Hope to see all the regulars at Rockley next week-end

I have received a number of enquiries relating to the long range weather forecast at Rockley for this week-end.
"I do understand that some people travel great distances" ,but please understand it costs us alot to set out these events , ambo's , hire toilets ,course hire and permits
I'm not a weather man , nor do i have a crystal ball , essentially this is a a vintage enduro and we run in all weather.
We are cross country/enduro riders , If its wet we ride.
I will be at Rockley from Thursday evening and i do not have mobile coverage at the farm , so unless you see something on this forum , on www.endurobiketalk.com website or you recieve a call or email from the Manly club we are running.

I just had a look at the weather channel web site, Fri 38% chance of rain 10mm +, Sat 62% chance of rain 1-5mm 0-12c, Sun 98% chance of rain 0-1mm 0-13c, perfect Vinduro weather, will be there Friday arvo ;D

Yes another great weekend at Rockley thanks to Ribbo Shoey and Manly club and all the helpers that set up and put away the markers, the weather was perfect and the the course was fast flowing ,the grass track was awesome. thanks to Dave Hammond for driving 4hrs out of his way to pick up my new thermo nuclear weapon it has been worth the wait, and then driving up from Victoria to come to the event. We did not stop laughing from the time we pulled up on saturday morning untill we packed up sunday afternoon. Also thank s to the person that plyed Ken with port all night bugger snoored so much through the night he lost his voice in the morning
-
There's some photos over on the VMX Magazine facebook page.
Picked up a very bad cold, must have been something in that port after all (Dennis, it's all your fault).

Ken
wicked trap that Ken,(Dennis & his port ;)),i was amazed you made it back up the hill to your camp :D
yeah top track, big thanks to all for organising ,the companys that donated prizes, the weekend was a cracker!,tad worrying was the snowmans uncharacteristic departure 1st up sat morn,(something about it being too cold had me tad concerned for the weekend),but all good,no rain, tad windy at times, bloody sun came out briefly sunday morn, slight miscalculations with widened foot peg on the ossa meant every time i stalled, had to unbolt l/h peg, restart, balance bike against my helmet(kneeling down) & rebolt on,ride away, sure had me concentrating on the tight stuff through the tree lines, thought i was pretty "retro",till i spotted Ted?,on his bully 125 Lobito,(bitd belstaff jacket, jeans against my belstaff pants ::)),did more laps than me too, bloody typical bully riders :D,does anyone else think a ltr a lap was excessive?,i arrived back after last lap with no fuel left, cut it fine!,plug looked good?,cheers, thanks again to all,. :P
oops, nearly forgot, trailer rego label on the hill going out
J88247 expires 24 june,(will post)

Amazing track and a well organised event, definitely worth making the effort to getting to
Home early had a slide on the grass track... one sore knee and a ripped off sidestand mount pulled my weekend up.

Funny to see Dangerous Dave gets his pic up there as well. Don't tell him I said so, but he always does "look" fast and has been the poster boy for Harrow twice I think. :D
Nice to see the pics, though. Looks like a top event.
