I find in these type of situations it was best to change wife’s instead, The 480 will still look hot in 15 years from now
-
If you are going to ride it, get a spare set of crankcases, my 450 collapsed the whole crankcase behind the clutch basket after 6 months use from new.
Awesome showroom bike though!

The bike has done a season with out a hitch. I am well aware of the gearbox problems as I did own one in 1981. However I have fixed that problem by inserting a steel ring around the main clutch shaft bearing which gives it the extra strength it needs. This is a very reliable bike. By the way Johnny o thanks for alerting everyone to that problem whilst trying to sell it. Lol
-
Macca,dont do it!!!

cheers Dale.
-
the suspence is killing me ,HOW MUCH :o
-
Bloody nice bike Macca.. I had a brand new one, not the best bike to ride but surely one of the coolest Honda's. Being the first big bore from Honda makes it collectible..
-
I need $6,000 for the bike
-
Thats a good buy IMO as bike is very well built
I would buy it if i had some spare at the moment
-
I can't believe how I feel. I know I will regret it but it's
Gone!! Unfortunately I had to sell it. One of the hardest things to do was watch it being pushed way down a driveway. Me thinks might be drowning my sorrows big time tonight!
Thanks to everyone
-
I actually shed a slight tear from selling a bike that i had owned for 15 years,as the ute was driving down the road with my old bike on the back all the old memories/emotions hit, i own a bike now that i have had for seven years and could quite easily part with as i have not ridden it much but when you own one that has been a good thing for a long time they get hard to part with as they are a big part of our lives.
cheers Dale.

Hang in there Macca.
Bikes come and go.

Macca, i know this is an ancient thread, however how did you do and what is the steel ring for the clutch shaft?
