Just curious on others thoughts on safety seats ( after market).I am currently tidy up a RM250z ( 82). They dont have saftey seats std and I am considering it as the black seats on these things come crashing down int a 45deg fuel tank. I havent riden this bike yet and havent seen to many other fit aftermarket style ones. I want to keep the bike period correct but not 100% suzuki std. Thoughts?

They were all the go in 82,Ceet must have sold a stack of them after yamaha had them first to the oem market on the yz j's, Definately a cool period mod,I have never ridden a bike with one though so dont know if they were any good or not, perhaps someone else can tell us :)
You may find a nos one on ebay if you are lucky :)
As a side note I remember when mx bikes started coming stock with red or blue seats & we were all having our old model bike black seats recovered in the cool new colours, now we have gone full circle & are putting cool black seats on our moderns :D

I loved the Ceet blue safety seat on those early RM's,looked alot better than stock in my opinion and i'll bet Suzuki wish they had bought them out like that, good quality and probably more "rider friendly",just today i picked up a Ceet cover for my little YZ80H.

I am rebuilding mine with the safety seat, (thats how i got it and the tank is extra faded under it) and I found out that Vinstage Suzuki has 2 piece foam which is great if your foam is in good nic, but DC Plastics have the one piece foam which I think would be better, DC is also a bit less expensive for the complete new faom base.

I remember the Ceet ads in the magazines back in about 82/83/84,geez they had all the moto-x bikes looking absolutley beautiful, plus they did tank covers for the KDX's etc back in the day,i have searched a fair bit of ebay in the last couple of years but don't see alot of their products come up,i say "if you see em,grab em".
cheers Dale.
