My race number that day 115,  It was hard to get a low number back then, That was a very hot day.
(101) was Russell salmon, he never race 125, his bike was a 69 montesa 250 Cappra, people who do these programs, need to proof read them.

Good point Dave its really poor when they get it wrong. Perhaps a private investigator could be engaged to track down the fool who got it wrong. It was only 38 years ago after all. J

I remember that event very well as we lived in Cranbourne and it was just down the road, and it was the very 1st time that I took my girlfriend who is now my wife to the MX. I remember it being a very hot day and a very big crowd and up until recently, drove past the site every day for work, nothing but houses now for as far as the eye can see. Got some photo's somewhere, will see if I can find them.

No10 G(Gary?) Adams 125, 250 370 Suzuki sponsored by Melbourne Suzuki.

1974 would have been TM400 was he on some sort of special, development bike or pre-production bike? Typo?Anyone got any idea?

What a great read. The inked in 'Montessa trouble scratched' is a bit of a worry :-[ but spelling it Montessa was obviously the cause ;D

Gary Adams I'm 99% sure was one of the select few to get a RH250 in 74 , he probably also had a RN370 .

The Monty that I rode that day was a 73 250 Cappra owned by Lyall O'brien and had been ridden in 73 by Eddie Lancaster. Lyall lent it to me ahead of the arrival of my new 74 250 VR. If I remember correctly it jammed in third gear in event 16. This ended my semi works ride for the day :D :D.
Gary Adams was certainly on RH and RN Suzuki's and yes DBA B50 it was a very hot day.

Hot and dusty if I remember with hay bales marking the track. I vaguely remember a gully or drain that you had to ride through. Also remember Steve Cramer riding the 400 Yamaha. J

Both T Anthony and C Grabham still riding sidecars to this day. Very good effort if they are the same guys-well I know Trevor Anthony is, not sure if it is Clint Grabham though.
