8 to 10 overnight you reckon. I see it's going to be 3 tonight so 3 weeks time it'll be snowing.
-
Sounds good. I'll be there, roosting the web-master in Classic 125. ;D
What's the pre-70 roll-up going to be like? Will well see the Rossco-Breako 1995 model pre-70 bike in action at Canberra?
Or will I be able to hold onto my 2nd place in the pre-70 pointscore? :D
-
I think he meant it would be 8-10 under the hot shower.Looking forward to some cooler weather and a lot less dust than Clarence-should be a hoot.
-
No Way Magoo as I look over to the temp gauge it reads 23
so thats a long way from your 3 .
any way I will cut some Fire wood for all you guys who feels the Cold .
-
Dennis,
Dont worry about the firewood just throw another KTM on the fire that should keep Honda riding nancy boy Magoo warm and if that doesnt work throw Magoo in the fire.
Love and kisses
Harro
PS I love you Brucey!!!!!

Now Now Nathan, I am sure you kicked my arse round one, first race of the year, I think i came last place, actually didnt even get that as it was a push to the finish which is probable sign of things for 2008, and besides its a 2005 pre 70 Maico, get your facts right you trouble maker ;D
Oh yeah, im gonna bring it to Canberra just to hear the protests, besides I just replaced the rear wheel nut with a 2007 model but mums said its ok :)
-
I reckon I might take the Yellow Terra down for a run (Pursang Mk1) although is a Pre 65 bike, we should have some fun in the Pre 70 and earlier class! Looking forward to it!
Cheers,
Mark.
-
Well, I will be there with the mighty RM125M. With any luck, not only will I hand Nathan his arse on a plate, but the RM will actually go all day. And I went for a ride on it in ummmm January after I rebuilt it, so with all that practice I think I'll be set to serve up a whupping to that bloke on his CR125 that seems to win all the time.
-
Magoo, are you going to Canberra? If so,can you bring back the Gimp Suit-Clean;well as clean as possible.Oh,and Dennis,do the doors lock on the shower cubicles-if not, at least give the handles to the shower doors a thick coat of vasoline-it might slow Magoo down enough for the unsuspecting target of his attentions to try and escape.

Can't answer that one Noel. I doubt it, but they may be doing some work there ahead of the first round of the Club DT series in a week's time, so who knows?
Just checked the weather - looks good. A nice 23 Saturday with late showers, and maybe a shower or two Sunday. Sunday will be a fair bit cooler though, maybe 17-18. That's not bad - cool and damp. Track surface should be brilliant, or as the Yanks would say - Primo Dirt!
I won't be around Sat evening, same deal as last year - it's my wedding anniversary this weekend. But I have got the leave pass for both days, so will get to ride and race this time. First vintage race since last October too, so I am champing at the bit to get out there.
-
HEAVEN R2 at Canberra was a pretty fine event - superb weather and track conditions on Saturday for the free riding, and then a nice slightly damp track to start on Sunday. Mind you the thunderstorm complete with hail at the lunch break did change that a bit...
Here's a few pics from Gezza, more to come later in the week.

I got nuthin' to say to you, Mr Mc... Or were you threatening to get roosted? ;D
Seriously good day. Track was awesome in the morning, and even hail at lunchtime only brought it back to 'excellent'.
Had some bike issues (CT1 chain adjuster died four corners into the first race, YZ-C didn't even manage a full lap of practice), but I can also now honestly say that I've lead a race. :)
Big thanks to everyone who made it happen, and to everyone who helped me out with bits and tools, particularly Neville, and who ran around after me (ie: my wife).
-
Some of the weirdest weather you are likely to see-a bit of everything. The track held up really well considering-a credit to the "Groundsman" and his team. There were plenty of great races and not too many spills. The rain on the drive back to the coast half washed the bikes, which was a bonus.I spotted a couple of new faces and bikes-hope you guys and girls enjoyed it.
-
well the Canberra round is done .
I think it was all good . the weather was a bit funny the the racing
was very Good .
There was 3 blokes and 1 lady all snaping photos .
so I would like to see them .
any way I hope you all had fun so now we will all meet at Lake Glen born

(I heard that Dennis fell asleep during his breakfast cuppa on sunday and was late getting to the track,
after late nights grooming the track) Thank's dennis,
the track was the best it has been with all the
sawdust and sand copping well with the water just as promised
Mark we don't care who the photo's are of just stick them up for every body to see.
Cheers

Photos everywhere, gotta love them Maicos :D 8)
-
Some great photos in here; and NO dust! Looks like a good meet.
The Zook with the lilac tank caught my eye...
-
And if you are man-enough to ride a classic 125 last weekend, then you made it into the ACTMCC's brochures about "Motorcycle Racing in the ACT".
:)
No kidding - at all of the local bike shops, there's these professional looking brochures, and included among all of the photos of dirt track, speedway and modern MX, there's a photo of Neville, Stuart, Noel, Bill, Graeme and myself all heading towards the first corner.
:)
Apart from anything else, I'm impressed that a photo taken 5 days ago has gone through the whole process so quickly... Two thumbs up for the ACTMCC.
-
Did the brochure catch you in the pushing stage at that point Nathan ;D
-
Hate to dispel your faith in the Club Nathan but that photo has dust in it :o
Just checked the web site ;D
Cheers
Noel
-
Rosco, the DT didn't require pushing all day - but if it makes you feel better, I'm in last place when the photo was taken. :D
Noel, funnily enough, I had to think long and hard about whether it was taken last year... I don't think I've ever raced Graeme on the RM before, and I definitely haven't raced Bill on the 125 before.
-
thats OK Nathan
I don't think your in the Photo anyway :-*
Noel
-
I'm fairly sure that's not me in the pic either. Doesn't look like my helmet, and the number should be 136. And yet that's about where I would have been in the one race I rode in on Sunday? And there was dust at that stage too... Hmmm...
On a side note, while my rib healed OK after the Bega getoff, my finger hasn't and after the ride day Saturday it throbbed too much Sunday for me to ride in the end. Then I went home and read about Reedy toughing it out with a broken shoulder and bruised lungs etc. I won't even mention it at CD5...
-
Well, I was clearly doing my best to not be in the photo, but even my piss-weak "oh, the gate has dropped, what should I do now?" start can't keep me from world-wide fame. ;D
Graeme, you've gotta ride the 125C at CD5 - Yamaha > Suzuki. I trust you to not blow it up more than I trust Bill, so you'd better get a ride before he does.
-
I'll be up for that for sure Nathan. I'd be very interested in the comparison. You know how you kick yourself with hindsight? Well, back a few years I had a whole bunch of bikes lined up to restore, but I sold them to buy the HL500. One was an RM125S, one was a YZ125X. They were mostly complete, just needed work and the usual rebuilds. I sold them both for a total of about $600. Geez, I wish I'd just kept them. Would be so good to have the M, an S, and a YZ-X.
-
It realy does sound like there will be a few 125's at CD5, and the photos here look fanistic, you guys look like your realy enjoying yourselves. Its going to be interesting for me as I have only ridden a man-made MX track 2 times. Keep the pictures coming.
-
I'm really buzzed to see so many Suzis going along, especially the 125s. But all sorts of other things as well, and hopefully an RM370 or two, I reckon they are such cool bikes. A shame we never see them at vintage MX events. We should organise to have all the RMs and TMs take to the track in one go in the Pre 78 session...
-
I am in the the process of building up a nice RM250B (1977) for MX and mostly Dirt Track-should be ready for Canberra in Sept at least. It goes good already, I'm just going to pretty her up a bit-I like it already, it is so much closer to the ground and holds a slide well-just need more practice as usual.
-
DJRacing, I'll dob in vmxman here - i gave him around sixty juicy pics taken on sunday for uploading. an he's only uploaded a doz or so. slack. my shutter finger's still recovering - but all for nought!!
i'm sure he'll be blaming his bruised ribs - but not only did reedy race with bust shoulder and bruised lungs but he also went home and uploaded seventy photos of his race nite to his personal website that nite.
ok so that might be a load of cock and bull but useful for making a point (not sure what about now....).
-
Come on vmxman upload these shots from Twista-I'm sure i'm not the only one who would like a look-especially of the Suzukis.
