Hi Guys and Girls,
The friend of mine who was looking at a trail bike now wants a quad for his farm. I have had nothing to do with them so can't advise him. I am sure many of you have had experience with quads. The use is for general low impact hobby farm use, just getting around the farm, taking visitors on joy rides etc. Is there a model out there which is a stand out? What are the key factors to watch out for when buying one? Any thoughts would be welcome and appreciated.

Hard to go past one of the better quality Chinese quads for his use.
Big thing is to buy from a proper dealer, who will back it up.

I bought a hunter 250 chinese quad new from ebay and it is the biggest turd I have ever laid eyes on.I cant beleive they are even allowed to be sold, the frame and swing arm flew with every corner so its impossible to keep the chain from flying off.Ive got a mate who bought a chinese one from a local dealer and he hasnt had a drama, like Nathan said buy from a local dealer so you can have a good look at it if you go that way.

The Honda TRX250 is a great bike. We have sold lots of them at work & they are not that expensive. Obviously dearer than chinese but..............

i have a yam. timberwolf .. must be 15 years old, still going strong ... very loose but the motor is a beauty.
only thing that happened was the auto cam chain adjuster failed, so made a manual adjuster + new cam chain, otherwise untouched..
I be going 2nd hand japrather than new chinese myself..
