Paul, when you send a PM, make sure you tick the "Save a copy in my outbox" option at the bottom of the page. If you don't there will be nothing in the Outbox...

Oh, and I begged She Who Must Be Obeyed to release $3500 so's I could buy your TT... She said NO, but I'll beg a bit more. Not holding my breath tho!  :(
Damn... cos that's a very nice TT!

Sorry to clutter this thread with dribble, but I had to comment how nice is to see one of these advertised a what it really is.  8)
Instead of seeing all these "HL500's", it's good to see one described as an HL 'LookALike"  ;D Well done!

Nice bike and I'm sure well worth the money.

What's the difference (besides paint) between an SR, TT or XT motor, anyone know? (stupid question, of course there are Yam 500 experts here lol)

The early XT/TT had a 45mm inlet valve(sr 47mm) and smaller finning on head( 2mm less dia)
The later XT had the 47mm valve sometimes in an early head or with a SR head. I believe the Last TT had the larger valve.
The very early TT had a slightly smaller crank.
The SR had electronic ignition(12 v) the XT/TT points(6 v)
The SR had a pumper mikuni(32 mm) Early XT/TT 34mm non pumper mikuni later 32mm.
Engine basicly the same. ENG No. 2J2 prefix SR, 583 prefix TT, IE6 prefix XT
