I'm getting desperate to get this bike moved. Ive called a few movers but their prices are really just too much for a on old bomb bike.
I know the value of the bike doesn't change the cost of transport but I don;t want to spend double the value of the bike on moving it so can anyone help suggest an economical way to get this bike transported from Melbourne to either Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast.
Any help greatly appreciated

Craig,
I trucked a PE from Sydney to Melbourne via e-go.com, which is Hunter Expess' on-line service. depot to depot, it cost $138.82 overnight. I thought that was pretty good!
Just a suggestion.

Thanks again for the suggestion but it didn't work. I booked online and it was all looking good however just spoke to the person at the Dandenong end and they advised e-go freight company arrived to pick it up then refused when they realised is was a motorcycle and it wasn't on a pallet .... Great ::) I did put that it was a "motorcycle - dirt bike" on the booking form in the comments section but they musn't read that.
Even if they did do it, I paid (yes I need to get a refund now) over $300 to get it from Dandenong to Sunshine Coast. Any other ides about how to get the shitbox here "economically" people.
Might have to take Hoony up on his offer as it's got to be moved asap. My mate has closed his business where the bike is currently being stored and has leased out the shed.
Any other ideas?

Hi Paul. This is the PE I purchased through you a while ago and I have managed to accumulate the parts to do a reasonable resto on it (original tank and seat etc) so didn't want to give up on it just yet. I've managed to talk my wife into coming along to a few local meetings to have a ride but if I can't organise something in the next week or so then that is probably what I will do.
Cheers

Shouldn't make a difference that I purchased it through you ... unless you know something about it that i don't :D Should I put it on ebay now Paul :D
Anyway does anyone else have any more ideas on transporting? I called someone else (name withheld) and they wanted $495 to shift it :o

Yep I know it wasn't yours, that's why I said "through" you and not "from" you :D Still is there something I don't know about it aside from the fact it's worn out :D
Thanks for the number I will call him ... but what's the lol about the cheapest price? Is that what you always ask him for?

or 0422028505 loydd yep i always ask :P

Just spoke to Lloyd, nice guy, and he confirmed that yep, you always ask for the lowest price :D :D
So I tried your technique and he was definately cheaper than my previous quote by a substantial margin. Will try a few others over he weekend and if no luck there then will call Lloyd back and give him the job.
Thanks

$300 from Melb. To Bris. Sounds good.
If you want to get cheaper than that then take up Hoony’s offer and then find someone to take it to the Bonanza at Easter.
There may be someone that can take it to Sydney or even Brissy for you from there.
Or I can then store it for you as I’m only a few K’s from the Hume which will be easier for someone passing by to pick up.

Thanks Geoff. I was trying to not impose on Hoony or anyone else for that matter however I do appreciate his and your offer. My current best quote is $375 door to door so that is looking good, just waiting for one more quote before committing to that courier.

Mine wasn't on a pallet. They just forked it on, and forked it off (at Dandenong). The guys there wanted to fire it up and ride it around the yard! Good luck!
Sorry it didn't work out for ya.

Thanks mate but my best quote of $375 is to the Sunshine Coast from Dandenong, door to door so that's looking good. Also I believe (based on what a couple have said) that freight south is cheaper than freight North because most freight North is in demand and booked up with mining etc etc but they backload South cheaper to avoid returning empty.

No worries Shorty, I appreciate you taking to time to try and help.
Yeah not sure why they wouldn't pick it up, maybe company policy has changed or maybe some drivers/depots have different rules?? Anyway I appreciate your assistance nevertheless.
