Title: How do I keep my new PFR Pipe looking good?
Post by: Simo63 on February 27, 2012, 09:00:27 pm
Yes I finally received my much awaited ProForm pipe for my YZ250D  8)

My only concern is that it looks a bit rough with no paint and a bit of surface rust all here and there.  I was simply going to paint it but I like the "worksy" look I see on so many other bikes so how do I clean it up and keep that nice worksy look??  ;D

Motorex do a spraycan product called "Joker 660", spray that on and give it a wipe where you can, one of my PFR pipes is about 6 years old now and still looks aceptable.

I clean my bare metal pipes with Alubrite acid for cleaning aluminium, it gets rid of any rust and brings the metal up like new then spray with Inox or Joker as Davey says  :)

There's a few similar brands, think i got it at Supercheap. There is one called CT12 from the people who make CT18 truckwash.

Spray on cooking oil, mud won't stick to it either ;)
