Title: Can't get no KX green
Post by: cyclegod on February 21, 2012, 09:35:08 pm
I have approached a whole bunch of powder coaters and none could get me a good enough green for my 89 KX125 frame, if you too have had this problem this was my solution...

Buy the powder yourself and get them to coat it for you cheaper  ;D

It looks a little washed out because of the flash but it is a perfect match to my new UFO plastics, 1lb did all these parts
and the frame.

I kept my original sub frame which was damaged but had good original sections that were VERY close to the new powder coat (the powder looked better)

2 pak it,

Only if your paying for the pro painter to do it, $$$/Hour too much for me.

Can anyone tell me where I can get Anchor Paints.
I've tried all the auto parts stores nearby and haven't had any luck.

Thanks Roger...

I contacted them and had 3 cans delivered to my door. They are $16.50 each + postage.

They are very friendly and helpful. The NSW office has plenty of K-417.

Their contact details are:
WA     21 Ballantyne Road Kewdale 6105        Phone 08 9353 3354   Fax 08 9353 6994

VIC     1/37 Rushdale Street Knoxfield 3180   Phone 03 9763 4433   Fax 03 9763 4033

NSW   14 Maxim Place St Marys 2760              Phone 02 9673 1322   Fax 02 9673 1366

I have sprayed a sub-frame and the colour is spot on !.

Many thanks Roger. Awesome stuff.
-Hardo :)
