I could see the K-O-H-L-E-R on the side of the motor but had no idea it was a snowmobil engine.
I could have used the other side but that would have given the game away ::).

The ad gives no info. I don't know if its a one off, prototype or small run. Although I'm betting a 'one off' with a very convincing lettering on the tank ;) :).
An interesting combination of some 'one off' engineering like the brake pedal, and some very dodgey details like the wiring.
Are they Greeves forks on home mades?

Is the carbie missing the top half - what is that?
-
the carby is a pumper carb.i used to run one on my dt1mx in 1974,once tuned right it flew.
cheers
-
I think it's a Walbro pumper.

Not much info but Rick "Super Hunky" Siemen has stuff on the HOLDER FIELD & TRIAL 133.
Made in the US of A and were a sports bike and pretty rare.

Different engine to the above machine

Not Greeves front forks, look rough & ready, probably home made

Maybe a Tillitson pumper as fitted to a Kohler engine on the small transportable field bin grain auger in the farmers yard over the road. Looks very similar engine but mounted to a reduction box. The Holder.. Hmm in my opinion unique but just pus ugly and most likely ran and handled like that too. :D

Most noticably in the L/H photo, there'd be bugger all cooling to the fins - the barrel and head are (almost) completely encased/enclosed. ???
Is that typical of snow-mobile motors?
-
KOHLER MAKE INDUSTRAIL ENGINES THESE DAYS FOR THING LIKE STUMP GRINDERS PUMPS AND THE CARB ON THAT ONE IS DESIGNED TO RUN AT ALL SORTS OFF ANGLES . THAT ENGINES PROBABLY OUT OF A RIDE ON MOWER OR SOME THING SIMILAR .DOES SEEM TO FIT PROPERLY IN THE FRAME SO WHO KNOWS

Believe me Paul, it's out of a sixties snowmobile. My ex wife has one under her house. Same engine.
