Has anyone used a set of upright bar mounts rather than the lay back type on the '77-'83 Husky's? If so what was the result?
Cheers,

Yes and they work better but reduce the amount you can move your fork leg's up in the triple clamps

Yes, did it on my 77 390. While it moves the bars forward-it also raises them. I am continuing to give some forward bias by adding longer spaces to the forks, as well as moving the tank forward, new front engine mounts that lower front of engine( don't remember how much-maybe 20mm).
If I can turn this thing, it's a rocket.

Thanks guys, I'll try a set on the new bike I'm building. I don't have any problems with the way they turn & handle, just wondering really.

K ,i put a set on my 83' wr430 so i could run fatbars -stronger and a bit more room in the cockpit :D they feel good too ,the tag mounts i used have a bit of offset in the mounting bolt allowing the fork to come up 15-20 mm which is more than the recommended , so all good !

Do you need a set, K?
I've got a set of a mid 70's Husky bar mounts that you're welcome to if you need them.

Thanks for the offer Tony, but I have a set of mount's. I'm tricking up a set of 43mm YZ465 forks, so I hope I can run them through enough to match up with the 20mm shorter shocks I prefer to use. The bike is a "custom" '82 CR430. Will find out soon enough.

Just a matter of interest my 02 360 WR bar mounts fit straight on my 82 and are a stronger mount.
