Take the caps off, take out the springs. fill to even with seals or 8-9.5 oz of 20 wt. Fork oil .I like Bel-ray best. Do not use ATF as it will soften the seals too much. If the forks came off an MXer they'll hold a bit more. But fill to the seals . Hope this helps. TCL

I run 30wt in my C & J Honda, remove springs with the forks extended to max fill to just cover the spring seat, you will need to pump the forks a bit to get the level correct and all the air out.
They do work very well, when I 1st built the bike I had 20wt but found that the dampering degraid as the race when on, 30wt feels to heavy to start with but once it warms up they work prefectly. Do you know what the year forks are from and do they have the auto air bleed top caps?

How did they go? The reason I went to heavy oil is the XL350 motor is 48kg.

Sudman ,sorry the caps do have bleed air valves. Will fill 20wt oil to your specs and try. Then can still go to 30wt later if need to.
