Compliments of the season to all.
I have recently picked up a nicely rebuilt 78 RM 400 which is quite rare in South Africa, there being plenty more 370's around.
To finish it off it needs some tank decals - for '78 they had the plain black writing "Suzuki" running along the bottom of the tank, which IMHO looks a bit crap. I far prefer the 79 style tank decal. Could they fit on the 78 tank?
Cheers!

G'day Bruno, I cant see why not. The size of these decals from vintage suzuki are 255mm wide x 200mm high you could save, print and cut out to get an idea of the look.

If the vertical angle didnt look right maybe the 1980T tank decals would be better :) they are pretty cool too 8).
Cheers Nob

Bruno the '78 RM's emblems should actually be about 50mm up from the bottom of the tank but truth is, I never liked them either ;) Instead of going later style I reverted back to '77 emblems and raised them a little which in my opinion look better than the original style/location.

then later I also tried moving the stock emblems up a touch and this too also had a better effect than stock ;)

That's fascinating - I had never noticed until you pointed it out.
To my mind it was only the 250 and 400 that had the tank stickers set down low, yes?
The smaller bikes simply slapped them around the middle, I think.
I agree, moving it up looks WAY better.

Thanks guys,
I reckon after seeing how the '77 stickers look, moved up a bit on the tank, thats the way to go! Morwe in keeping with the old style side number plates too.
My only concern is your knees rubbing them off.....

put a thick clear sticker over the top?
