Title: Yamaha ID serial numbers
Post by: albrid-3 on December 05, 2011, 10:38:35 am
The engine number on that 400 mx is 574, is a Dt engine, as the clutch cover is not YZ or MX. Does anyone know what model it is.

You just have to remember that they are model codes and not engine frame numbers.

With the earlier bikes the engine/frame numbers may be different to the model codes.

i.e.:
The IT400C model code is 1K7

The IT400C engine/frame numbers are 510-2*****

The only place you see the 1K7 is in the part numbers for bits specifically designed for the IT400C.
