Title: RM125N project

This is my buy of the year.  I picked up this 125 for 300 bucks.  All there apart from one side cover, Std piston, the chain rollers are all still there.  In fact I think it could be original chain and sprockets.  The clutch basket has no dents worn in it and even the handlebars are original and almost straight.
Here's the first question,  Do Suzuki engine and frame numbers match?
Frame: RM125-91801 Eng: RM125-92170

No Noel, there usually a few hundred digits out, good buy....where have you been hiding?

Good, I didn't think it was a bitsa. 
I've been around just doing some other stuff.

A real fun toy..  :P  You'll have a ball...
Boy child has a ball on our 125 "N"  and the right height for a six footer.  8)

Yeah sort of :P 
When I picked it up he said when he got the head was on backwards so he put it around the right way but never got it going.  When I took off what I thought was a pretty good pipe I find they have laid into the underside of it with a hammer to get it to fit over the head ::) >:(

Next Question,

What's the story on fitting tapered headset bearings?

What size are they or from what model?

Does the frame need to be modified?

Go through the aftermarket catalogs at a bike shop, they will make them to fit your bike.

Most Suzuk's need the top part of the headstem turned down about a mm for the top bearing to sit on.

Wow! What a great find. I like 'em a lot. Was great watching Dean Burt ringing the neck off his at HBBB a couple of years ago. I keep getting tempted to buy one but something else would have to go...... :-\
