Thats a nice bike but for that type of money I would spend a little more and import a new one with alloy frame.
-
But the beauty of the cre is it is road legal complianced if you didn't want to get it registered alloy framed new import would be the go. :)

did think about buying one back in 2001, but then i thought gearbox ratios and power spread wrong for trail riding, fuel range low and again gearbox ratio's wrong for a motard jobby. the novelty of a big bore MXer would soon wear off after a few months i reckon.
but it was cool that you could buy one with ADR even though they are totally impractical.

And then drop a "real" CR500 engine into it...... 8)

Great piece of kit to ride to the shops on Sunday morn' to pick up the paper!!!
-
I've got one - I used to ride it to work, trail ride, enduro, grass track, motocross and a couple of finkes. I don't understand the point about gear ratios and with a fatty pipe the power spread is much nicer. It wasn't real good on the road and motocross was an effort but trail riding and grass track were great. It is a keeper! Fuel range is as good as a wr450 or any of the ktm enduros though I have a 15l tank as well. A great all round bike. Lex

If anyone wants an alloy framed CR500, I have a genuine service Honda here for sale (not mine). The thing is mad and will more than likely bite you, hard! My mechanic is a very handy rider but this thing owns him, it has gotten every time he's ridden it. It seems to be set up very well and has engravings all over it of whom ever rode it in the States. The owner is looking for $8,500, owes him a lot more but he's shit scared of it. I have no desire to ride it, my testicle inflater is not heavy duty enough.
Cheers,
K

Its about right for a nice CR500E. the E being the key as mentioned they are road legal.
Maybe a little high price but does come with a shiteload of spares, claims has been looked after properly and might aswell start high!
