Title: Goodwood on the Telly
Post by: Tony T on November 27, 2011, 04:51:29 pm
Just came in from the shed to find Murray Walker interviewing Jeff Smith, Les Archer & Arthur Lampkin at Goodwood!  ;D ;D ;D
It's on One right now. Don't know if they'll repeat it at any stage?

Well worth watching if it gets repeated. Apart from the scramble heros from the past, doing a bit of a parade and having a quick chat with Murray Walker, the classic car racing was pretty intense and exciting to watch. Also a bit of an air show with some spitfires. Be definitely an event for the bucket list.

Gotta say, I was amazed at how hard they drove some of those cars!  :o
I don't know a lot about old cars (except one particular brand...  ::) ) and I'm all for anything old being given the chance to have a good run, but when you hear how only 6 of one particular model was made and you see one of them smack the barriers, I can't help but cringe a little.  :-\

Just finished Issue 48 of VMX - off to the printers today - and it contains what I reckon is the best event coverage we have ever run featuring Mr Malams weekend at Goodwood. It's a ripper and full of stuff never before seen in VMX.   8)

It was so good I was looking at going next year, as Goodwood and Farleigh Castle were on consecutive weekends, no I hear that they are on the same weekend. Bugger!!!
