Radiator hose has been working fine on my 400 for around a year

MCS do a replica muffler joint complete with the spring clamps.

Got the joint and the clamps from Yamaha for my YZ400d (although the joint is a little pricey).  A piece of silicone radiator hose works just fine, but it's bulkier.

Although I do have one of the expensive joiners on a 430 Husky,  all of my other Husky's have a cut up 20 in BMX tube from my sons old patched up pushie tube. One of them has been on there since 1986 and it still works just fine.  Not sure what brand of tube it was, but is a great fit for Husky pipes and mufflers, with no hose clamps and a slim fit so it doesn't push out the side covers.
