I am not trying to shit stir - but looking at a new bike - obviously a 1977 RM370 can race pre 78 - is Evo a class you can ride up in with the same bike?
-
can not see why not I do it on my 77 yz's in Tassie
-
Ross, Ben rode the 79 RM 125 in evo and pre85 125 at Crystal Brook. So go for it.
Cheers

Have ridden my 74.5 KTM in EVO -- air cooled, drum brakes & twin shock -- do not get lapped so cause no problems -- get a few friendly laughs -- and pass those who fall off ::)
And lots fell off last meet so just got into the medals in the all powers over 45 EVO ;D

THIS WAS RAISED AT A QLD TITLE
I WAS TOLD AT THE TIME
PRE 78 IS ERA SPECIFIC
I WANTED TO ENTER A 74 YZ 250 IN PRE 78
NO DOUBT KAWA 211 WILL KNOW

ElsinoreYZ your talking about 2 differant classes. ONLY pre 78 bikes can ride in that class (75-77) as its specific.
EVO - is not a bike or Era its a 3 rule compliance and ANY bike that complies should be able to compete at the Race sec or promoters peral if they dont.
EVO is the catch all for any bike from any period that is air cooled, drum braked and has no linkage suspension.
Even a 1990 DT 250 if it meets the 3 rules.
ROSS - YES - YOU CAN RIDE YOUR RM in EVO if it meets those 3 conditions, if someone say no start a shitfight because you have evey right to run it if it complies.

ta - lady and gents. Would be good to have a bike that I could use for both pre and post Nats ;D
-
Rossco,
Of cause you can race in evo the bike is with in the rules, air cooled, drum braked and has no linkage suspension. That is the only restriction for the class. now all you have to do is find one. It would be easier to find a old pre 78 russian bike over there were you live ;D The locals would be commuting on them. You could proberly find a pre 78 DONKEY easier ;D ;D ;D
