Title: Sprocket suppliers?
Post by: PEZBerq on August 09, 2007, 09:06:26 pm
I cant believe it - but I just cant win trick when it comes to finding a new front sprocket for my 1982 430 XC.  Husky Parts Australia dont have any that fit - I had to return the one Fernando sent as they were too small to go on to the countershaft.   Who do you guys recommend for Husky sprockets?  Surely I dont need to go to the US!

I have a 53 tooth on the rear so am looking for an 11 tooth for the front.  I am told that the standard 13 tooth is too tall and the 11 performs better - sound right?

Thanks  Steve

Steve  ,output sharft sprockets for 430's are the same as all late model stuff and should be able to be purchased over the counter from any Husky supplier.  regards JIMBO.

Thanks 55.  I visited my local Husky dealer and they used a book which translated old model numbers to new Cagiva Husky part No's. They had a 12 tooth in stock which I bought ($29.50).  Will run a 12/53 setup.

All I need to do now is reassemble the frame after a partial unintended resto (I started out with the best of intentions but it got outta control!) and track down the source of the shiny metal flakes that drained out of the engine with the oil and I'll be riding it......hopefully before Xmas.  The disease has struck..much to Super Cheap Autos delight.
