I would buy a cable and run the pump. I never, ever, had a problem with mine in the 70's and my current one is happy with the pump.
To remove the pump and run pre-mix you need to remove the oil shield on the LHS main bearing and crank and drill a hole, through the case, from the LHS transfer area down to the outside of the main bearing. The flow of fuel/oil will be restricted to the main bearing otherwise.
You can run premix AND the oil pump on a very low setting with no throttle cable. Trouble is I don't know just where to set the pump to achieve this and you still need an oil tank
I got some throttle cables of evilbay for about $10 ea
Can't help with the reed block, Doc is the man there

Gday Don,
I am about to try fitting a GEM reed block to my TM125, does yours have a model number printed on it ? I am going to run it on a barrel that has been reshaped at the inlet to have a pseudo-rectangular shape to suit the reed block. I'm a bit concerned that the carby will be pushed back toward the rear of the bike - already without the reed block the carb is a long way back.
