Title: Husky 72-75 CR250 Wide or Narrow dog 5th gear -- ???

Need someone with a bit of Husky know how -- I have a box of Husky bits and am putting together an engine and have a choice -- do I use the wide or the narrow dog 5th gear on the layshaft?
I'm a guessin that one is an improvement -- but which one is the better one to use?
