Spot on John :) i thought it was a early CR frame but the owner put me straight :)

Yeah Bill those Carabela's look very much like a copy of a '74 elsinore.
-
Could be just an Urban Legend, but I seem to remember some magazine implying that Carabela slapped their stickers on an Elsinore and won the Mexican MX championship with it. Who knew there was such a thing as a Mexican MX championship?
;D

A hairy, chunky fellow of mixed heritage (not entirely British apparently) holding up a bike of mixed heritage in a farmer's paddock?

What make my missing that bikes Carabela heritage so dumb is that I wrote the VMX piece Ali posted...including tidying up Bills piece on his own bike. I seem to be having more of these DOH! moments of late. ::)

I think what Bazza is referring to maybe is the Australian Dirtbike test on the Carabella back in the day which featured a photo of it being stuffed in a garbage drum at the track. Obviously ABD called it as they saw it and didn't expect any further business from the importer ;D
