G'day viewers I would like to get my hands on a 1965 BSA C15S seat the small one not the later model long one the small scrambler type seat can you still get them and do they cost heaps as this seat will be active so it dosen't matter if the seat is rough. jimson

Thanks Tim I phoned modak today I might see if I can get a second hand one that fits the budget the bloke at modak said it is a BSA c15s the USA version I'm after not a starfire British one? Anyways still looking

ebay maybe but their sought after. i think repros or nos could be found. maybe try Domi Racer in USA or british spares in NZ or draganfly motorcyles in UK. they would be the best chances. i just had the seat done on the B44 GP. we supplied the original cover and clips for the bloke to use/copy along with the painted base. he then brougt it back to new with a new cover with white edging and new foam exactly like original. cost $310 but it is a fantastic job and not a cheapy job. i will put photos up in GP section when i get some photos taken.

LWC I was reading a Old Classic bike mag and they said the frame the C15S used from the mid 1960s was also used for the BSA B44 So maaate ;D is it possable if you could trace the base of that seat onto some cardboard and send it to me I will pay for any cost postage cardboard etc. I have some alloy here and I'm going to have a go at making my own seat to keep the budget down it would be nice to have that templet to start with anyways what do you think.jimson

yeah they would be similar but not the the GP has that hip flask tank above the swing arm and C15 would have the big tank on the side. and the GP frame is totally different to other B44's. the GP also has a chromolly steel frame from Reynolds tubing. i had a old c15 seat but sold it really cheap a few yrs back. i will see what i can do about a template. it would sort of only be a rough shape though. i actually fitted the brackets and seat yesterday on the bike. i am very busy at the moment so cant promise anything yet as ive got heaps of stuff to catch up on and send various bits to other forum members. we are in the middle of an extreme heat wave in SA and its making everything 'awkward'. would love some of that QLD rain down here!!!!!!!!

Its cool LWC 8) don't worry about the templet I didn't think you had put the seat on the bike I will sought something out. Yes I get the shits when its hot as well ten years of unloading glass from a furnace does that.jimson

if you still get totally stuck i think i can still help you. its not too hard to remove the seat. i dont want to remove the cover or anything though.

I tried to take a template of the seat but I didn’t have any cardboard big enough. I only had big boxes that are for sending exhausts/rims/tanks etc to chromers/annodizers etc and didn’t want to cut them up. I found some sheet foam stuff and tried to do it with that but it was hard to get a accurate shape as its not a flat base and has curves. It started to turn out shit and i thought this is no good.
Try looking for a 175 Bantam Bushman seat. They are the same seat. They are a rare bike but ive heard a few guys say there is some up in Qld.
