A friend of mine has the same model Brand new still in its box, and it originally came from new zealand.

He's been watching "the Castle".....tell him he's dreaming.

I know the guy, friend of friend from Hawera .....everything he says about the bike is correct and it is mint.... I guess its pricing is comparable to RH or similar and it is probably just as rare.... just the market has moved and you have to find someone with a lazy 25K.
-
Is it one of Barry Senns old bikes?

No its not, I didn't think he would sell it, guess he will for 25K
-
For a bike like this or even my friends 360 crated YZ, if you have that sort of money, Its cheap,In another 20 years the price may say the same your pop up to thirty thousand dollars. They are not ridable bikes
at that price.
-
There are alot of things wrong with that bike....it's not even close to the one on the cover of VMX magazine a while back....and that sold for 13K....when times where good....even with the value of the pacific peso it's way over priced....fark, you could buy 5 Maico 490's at that price at the moment......even the brand newy one that Terry Good sold a few years back didnt get anywhere that sort of money.....Super tramp had a hit song in the 70's about dreaming.
-
Gee, that's cheeky :P. It's not even visually close. White number plates? Unpainted barrel and head? And there is more from what I can see.
He's 'trying it on'. Ya can't blame him for that I suppose. I reckon, maybe $6000 ;).
-
My own view in this market 1/2 of that price would be pretty good going. I don't think there is a VMX bike out there where you could get 25K out of it and I am not buying that it will go up to 30K .... like the economy I don't think the VMX price boom will come again.
Lot of Kiwi's heading for Aussie at the moment so a lot of toys being sold off.
-
The more I think about it, you are right MarcFX, the bikes that you get high prices would be Terry Good works bikes (Roger de Costa ) Rn 370 etc etc, Those bikes will bring excellent prices, I feel a Yz 360 specially that one advertised Top Price would be 13 to 15 thousand. If it was still in is grate, $20,000 would be top dollar.
-
It has my pet hate aswell....zip-tied front number plate....if you wanted top dollar, you would expect it to at least have the little things done....it's all out there. ???

Yeah that bike has been pretty well raced. Its had decent local bike shop restoration, but that is a bit different to the kind of detail you could expect from some of the builders on this forum.
25K will buy you a hell of a lot at the moment, Manx Nortons are coming up at that price.
-
I'm sure right now if you posted on Marks swap meet for wanted YZ you could buy one in the same condition for 5k to 6k.
-
Hey mark, didnt think it was barrys old one, what VMX series did it win?

Not sure about the VMX series, some years ago before Livewire and Mr VMX was invented I think. Guy who owns it has a few BSAs, do you remember Gold Star looking replica on TM a couple of months ago in Eltham.
-
no.he said it had one a vmx series in the add.You still coming home at xmas mark?

Nah mate I am coming home for good in April, just getting my shed organized at the moment..... you will have to come over and we will try and get a bike started./
Check this out, 36K and heading North, reserve not met.... any good Brit stuff still gets the cash flowing.... B50SS is going pretty well also

Yep totally the CCM of road bikes, also noticed clean F1 Pantah for 13K, they were getting 20K in Aussie 12 months ago. Anything British still seems to have a market .... nice Norton or similar sells like hot cakes still. Old retiree money there boyo/

yz's are sold pending apparently, he emailed back.
Was interested in seeing the yz175 if it was a real one,as i wasnt logged in i couldnt see the pictures, but now i see the pics here i think it was only a MX is what he meant to say.
heavy laydown done on the mx 360 there, and the YZingers missing a few bits like the airbox etc so probally fair weight i guess.
-
freaky
yz175c look like a 1976 yz125x a lot of parts interchange.motor dosent though
jim
-
nah he said it was a 74 yz175, not later models. ( i got a 'c' with the the Euro white tank)
These are supposedly like the 125A but with the 175 barrell, i think Tony herbert got one in bits, but never seen it in the flesh.
this one turning out to be just a MX175, reckon he just miss typed i guess. looking at that picture
-
thread hijack , Freaky there was only the yzc175 it was only made in 76 one year only . no other 175 yz where ever made . The only one I know of is in western NSW its a genuine 76 model not a 125x with a 175 IT motor . they had different crank cases ,cylinders , carbs and pipes the rest was all 125x except the tank sticker . I would love to get one to complete my airfork set of 76 yz's . regards Iain
