Errr...no thanks :o.
I bought one for $14.99 Buy It Now about 6 months ago and I've been thinking I might need another. If that's the new price trend I think I'll be reconditioning my stash of used ones!

i have been working on a othe rmodel Firko, some the XS and RD ones seem to be better and have steel there the plastic that cracks is. will keep you posted but there under $30 so far with the one i have played with you reverse them onthe DT covers, but no good on the YZ as you have to move the holes etc and its not worth wrecking a good YZ cover for.

Firko I wrote to this guy as I bought 3 from the UK for between $40 and $50 each (including postage) as they are becoming rarer and rarer. He advised the ones I was buying where the same but not (?) as they were for another model - they have a slightly longer arm - which I actually think is of benefit with clutch pull.
Freaky - mate over here did exactly what you mentioned, and we have another thread on it, and modified an XS one and a cover to suit - that ended up with a nicle pull as well ::)
Also the guy in NZ was fabricating covers but they wouldn't accept the standard clutch push lever.
So - basically this guy is expensive but reckons he sells them - not that I can see.

Gents...I'm experimenting with glueing the broken plastic spiral gizmo. I've tried both superglue and 2 part Araldite but won't know what works or doesn't work until the bikes get a decent shakedown. I have one from an XS650 that I think is aluminium (maybe steel) instead of the plastic as Freaky describes. It's got the slightly longer arm so Rossco might be on to something with his notion that it might offer a softer clutch pull. Now that I've got two race spec DT1's and two race spec RT1's plus the possibility of me putting my old DT1 from Hell back together I'll be needing a few decent clutch actuators but downright refuse to pay $200 for one >:(.

MAN THAT POST IS CONFUSING rOSS. what are you saying ........
and where is the link to the other thread.
Also i have found most of the old stock are rooted any way as the plasitics brittle and there is often cracks all the way though the scew sections so ther enot worth that sort of coin no matter what. and you cant glue them as its a twising motion and it tears them off again.
The road version is metal inners so the screw helix section is steel, that seems to fix everything as they dont crack or wear out, but the helix is slightly differant pitch so you need to complete female part as well ( hence the change over) longer arm give more pull too.
I cant see it being hard to try to find someone to recreate the plastic helix in a metal material sleeve so you can press it back onto the knurly bit and just cut off the old plastic section. Not sure why it hasnt been down unless its some crazy machining issue ???

Freaky - telling me one of my posts is confusing!!!!! :o
1 Mate - that guy is expensive and there are plastic helical alternatives out of the UK for 1/4 of the price.
2 Mate has done the metal conversion you speak of and it went quite well - and no I can't find the thread.
3 Thirdly there is a guy in NZ fabricating the actual housing/cover to accept the steel helicals.
Is that better ;D

Said part about that thread was it was never resolved to any definitive result. Seems mine was the last post so you teases still left me hanging over there too.

Freaky - I wrote to the guy in question and if I remember right he fabs the covers up to suit the road push levers and the standard YZB plastic push levers don't fit. So requries some mods to go this way (need to mod to fit the road levers anyway).
Hope that is better?

rpbikes in the UK has one listed currently - less than $50 to the door currently.
