Cant help with the thread but a bit of advice,
I just got a flash new pair of fox boots , the soft sole type. they fit well and are very comfy. just dont get boots like that to trail ride in, the toes are also soft and if you catch/ kick somthing it really F$%^&N hurts!!!, Great VMx boots though.

Thanks Asasin, I'm lookin for the thread because I recall it had a discussion on what was what from the current crop of boots, and I need a new pair, took a tumble on Sunday, the cheapo boots were ok but did not properly protect my leg (bit black!), and the clips on them are a pain.
Bruised and sore but nothin' busted, the neck brace worked a treat -- very tender/sore and will probably come out a bit black where the brace got hammered onto my old chest, but NO problem with the spine/neck, brace was jammed down hard, it would not come way from the body armour. And my knee braces were good -- back leg got caught between the rear wheel and guard on "new" evo bike and it flipped me (wierd sensation being flipped by your bike).
Chest armour, neck brace and knee braces all worked good, but boots need to be better :D

Sidi or Gaerne. The ones with the pivot system at the ankle. Comfortable plus heaps of protection, I wouldn't bother with any others

Sidi Crossfire. SRS is probably worth it.
Zero break in time, good support, good soles.
Mine have had a lot of hard use, and are showing very little sign of it.
