Title: Which camera?

Hi Guys
Remember some discussion awhile back about what cameras are good. Ours needs replacing, normally spend around the $1k. Whats a good camera to buy? Need something that is good for sports action as wife takes shots  of our kids involved in various sports.

Just brought the daughter a canon 550 camera comes with two lences, takes great pics  ;) does video, high lights the image you want
 and blurs the back ground as well on diffrent photos but should do at $1400
but you pay for what you get...hope that helped ,but its a tad over a grand but...

my wife has a cannon 1000dslr also came with 2 lenses 18-55mm and 75-300mm she swares by it i'm not big on this stuff but i know it takes great photos no video does the blury thing as well she paid $900 from myer hope this helps.cheers gary
