There's no doubt about it, Alan Jones sure has an eye for the weird and unusual bits of gear from motocross and dirt tracks past. Ever since he found a brochure for the factory Carabela "speedway" bike he's searched high and low for one. Apparently only a few were made for Mexican speedway back in the early seventies so finding one was turning into 'Mission Impossible' until one appeared on eBay early this week with a $600 'BUY IT NOW' tag. It seems to be fairly complete with the exception of wheels and a back 'guard...parts that will be fairly easily found as they were shared with the Carabela motocross range. DC Plastic even makes a rear 'guard. It's already on its way to Long Beach to join his ATK dirt tracker and my two dungers for the tropical cruise to their new homes down here.

Ali that little Carabela flat tracker is a totally different thing to the bike Alan bought. Alans bike is a slider and Dans museum bike is a flat tracker....very different animals with the same engine.
