Title: TT500,XT500 frame spline for foot peg bracket
Post by: mick25 on August 23, 2011, 09:09:43 am
I am after the spline peice thats connected to the frame for the foot peg bracket to fix to,mine has all the small teeth striped off.
I dont know if other yamahas had the spline set up ,on there frames as well ,or one of them may do.
so if you have a old TT,XT500 frame that has been choped or stuffed and you dont need the spline piece let me know.

The TT,XT kick starter spline is the same size ,but was told by some one who used one it was real hard to drill a thread in it for the foot rest bracket....because its harded steel and they had to keep heating it up and cooling down etc....

All the earlier bikes had the spline....MX/MXA/MXB/YZA/YZB/YZC....TT's.....some guy's just weld it in the right place....even Yamaha did it on a few models.

Thanks davey for the tips ,
I didnt realise that there was a lot of other yamaha models with the same set up.
I have throught of welding it on... but its hard to remove the big donk out of the frame with the foot peg bracket welded on  :-\
some one should have a old yammie frame laying around thats a bit beatin up 8) that they can cut one off for me...
