Yup...

"THESE ARE CLASSED AS VINTAGE AND ARE HARDER TO FIND AND THE VALUE IS INCREASING ON THEM."..............

Obviously the fact that this is one of the super rare yellow versions increases its value as well....

;D ;D ;D One thing that I was told was that there were some white IT's released on the US market. I've never seen one so is my informant bullshitting me? ::)

The white IT's really happened - one year only though (1981 from memory - H's) and US market only...   ;D

I've got a (very rough) IT250H with a white frame...I just assumed someone painted it at some stage but maybe it's a USA import?

I wish I'd known, I'd have done my IT250 H white just to be a bit different. I've just got new blue plastic so blue it'll remain. The good thing about the blue is that it separates the IT from nearly everything else.

Yeah ... another example of this sellers "quality" product  ::).  Like I have said before, I think he has purchased a container load of bikes from a US wrecker by the look of his other stock.

he might be just pretty shithouse at taking photos.i was at his place its at capalaba i was looking at the yellow i think its a 81 or 82 yz 490,although that IT is pertty rough the others that are in the photos are pretty tidy bikes.i didn't buy the 490 because my knees arn't reel good and its not the thing i'd like to be kickstarting all the time i bought a 89 rmx 250 instead off a 54 year old who has spent the last 10 months rebuilding it but, when my daughters xr100 sells i'll be going back to get the cr 80 he has for sale tidy little bike and started 2nd kick.im not sticking up for the bloke but most of his stuff looks better in the flesh than in his photos.cheers gary

i was thinking about going to have a look at this guys gear seems to be the right price , other than oldskool has anyone actually checked the bikes out, its a six hour trip for me so a little inside info would be good, possibly looking at one of those early 80's 250 honda's ,thanks

Though commonplace here now the yellow US YZ's models were once something different as were our white YZ's over there. We thought their Mustangs and Trans-ams were trick and they loved our Monaro's and GT Falcon's. But a yellow IT, well that's something reely speshul! :D

taka 100 he's a funny bloke on the phone it was like if your not buying one today don't bother coming had cash in my pocket.when i got there he didn't seem to bothered in getting the bikes going he said they just need the fuel drained and fresh fuel in them do i want to do it.by talking to him on the phone you would think he would have them ready to go.both the 490's had plenty of compression one the fuel had been left on and the motor was full of fuel the other just needed fuel drained and new fuel.as said earlier the cr 80 had plenty of compression and started 2nd kick that was the only bike i didn't ask about on the phone.he just seemed to me that he didn't want to sell them he had a few there that he had sold so maybe someone on here has bought them.theres also a new shop opened at the gold coast at narang in lawrence drv i think its called his bikes are a bit nicer but very pricey.hopes this helps cheers gary.

yeah mate thanks could be worth a look , i got a beautiful old girl from the other place in nerang you talk , about some people would say that i probably payed to much but that is debatable im happy but it was in fully racing prep . a 1979 cr390 husky desert flower from califoria . man it had bling all over it or what i call bling any way no shiny bits just the real original patina , stickers , malcolm smith stuff , mossbarger stuff +boost ,  pro circut stuff ,big plastic tank , welded on kick with what appears to be a gear shaft with sharks teeth filed out of it on the top part of the leaver (works a treat boot donest slip off this one) original race numbers and battle scars even down to the metal skulls and cross bones on the front plate (with the race number 39A) and rear guard with a sticker that said   'pussies will never be hero's'    and it runs rich as sh#t, but apparently that the way they like it ah huh ah huh !! you know i started making it look like everyones elses 390, but i think i will put it back to the way it was . it was last seen going past a couple of rice burners in baja, over 100mph so they say ??? sorry mate i'm a bit pumped out getting back into these bikes, looking out for a lotto win so i can get into them every day.
