what happened for him to stop posting hope all is well with him
-
he's fine I think, you can find him on facebook.
-
like many, he got bored.
He'll come back some day.
-
thats a shame cause he knows so much about suzuki's and was always so helpful
-
I'd really like to see Doc return. He's a bloody nice bloke and really was a part of the family here. I know he got a tad frustrated with the pedantic rule stuff and some of the bun fighting that went on but his knowledge of everything Suzuki is sorely missed. Sure he may be on facebook but I'm sure there's many like me who don't do facebook or the Ning thing could do with Docs wealth of knowledge right here.
Nobody builds a better budget bike than the little guy. ;) Come back bloke, we need you. ;D
-
here here.
-
well said firko ,docs the suzuki man ,come back soon
-
Doc was an original forum member and for a while had the highest number of postings and bloody good postings at that. As has been said before he truly could build a really cool bike out of an ordinary traily or a collection of random parts . In the early days a few gave Doc shit about being a cyber racer ::) well the little guy really stuck it up the doubters when he podiumed at the Coffs nats on a TM 125 he built himself. Those of us who have had the privilege to meet Doc know that in real life hes a bigger legend than he even is on the forum.
Doc is as generous in the flesh as he is with sharing his considerable knowledge on this Forum . He truly is the Suzuki guru and a bloody good mate :)
Doc i know you look on here so come back mate :) the kettles on ;)
-
Couldn't put it any better
-
Ditto

Nice to see another back , enjoyed your work and infomation . ps been talking to Les (maico) he was going to have a look tonight hope he comes back on to
-
again, many thanks. I may have been away but eh, I still looked in many times and hassled Alison and Leith to post for me occasionally :P to answer what I've done with bikes of late is..very little. Awaiting spring to sprong and hopefully with some rain kickstart some projects back to life. Lozza, your comment doesn't even warrant an answer ::) all I can say is if you don't run TS185 shocks you don't know what you're missing! ;D
-
Welcome back.

Thanks Doc, just about done if I could find the %$## brake levers. I like to use NOS or pegs with good tight pivots for the pegs and brake lever .... nothing worse than flogged pegs chattering about. I need a new spark plug and repair a couple of threads in the triple trees and I think she is done.
I took Luke advice and changed out the guard to Preston Petty since the photos/

Mate, it's all down to personal tastes, but that guard just felt wrong all the way. It does look good. Different - and I think that crazy swing-arm is growing on me more every day.
oh and Chris - JR50C's rock! ;D
cheers!
Luke
-
I d rather a swingarm like that than a DG which look plain and boring.
-

NO ::). i have a Honda footpeg i will post a pic of maybe that will get 7 pages of comments :D
-
You can try Hoony but it'd need to be something very very special! ;D

The PDI sort of has an architectual quality to it with overtones of Victorian bridge construction.
See who would have thought that swingarm collecting could end up as wanky as wine tasting/ ;D

To all who welcomed me back, once again thank you. I'm humbled. I'd like to reply personally to all but it would be a heck of a process. To Hoony, Firko, Alison, Bill, Stew, Leith, Davey, Marc, Ian, Geoff, Luke, Loz, Pete, crs-and-rms. Steve, Slawesy, IT400C, Wasp and anyone whom I may have missed, many thanks! It's actually really nice to feel a part of things again even if only a small part. :)

welcome back home doc

Welcome back Doc. Did you end up getting that mini bike from Bacchus Marsh?
Regards Stan.
-
Did you end up getting that mini bike from Bacchus Marsh?
:D well, kinda Stan. The story ended with the bike stored in Dean Burt's Dad's garage. It isn't worth the freight of having it sent up but Dean's brother inlaw is going to remove the seat and shocks when time permits and post them up. The rest is headed for the dump so if you know anyone (highly unlikely) who wants the rest of the roller it's there for the taking. Someone looking for RM50 wheels could use it as they are the same but otherwise it's history.

Thanks ...looks like the market is a bit slow...no sale/no bids at 300 smackers :)
Did notice that a DG TM250 swingarm had no problem with bids and selling ;D
cheers A

How is your RM80 Fleet progressing Doc? I ran into Mark the other day and mentioned that you had taken delivery of the lil RM. You mentioned that you had a fair bit on your plate at that time, so I guess you may not have been tinkering too much. How did your Mums place pull up after the floods? Great to know your still about, most blokes here that know you can reach you if your not on the net (or help a brother get the message through at least, thanks Mario).
Cheers Jason
-
hey Jas, haven't done a lot to the RM80 from mark for the past 4 months. Made a start on it, sourced a tank, muffler and seat from the US, relaced the rear wheel and painted the frame but waiting for summer and some much needed rain to get the bike projects moving again. I did finish off another 80 project some months back with the help of the bottom end that Mario had donated but not much else has happened since. Hopefully I'll have Mark's 80 done by Xmas and I'll send some pics. Turns out it was B and not a C which was even better 8) No probs with flooding since the last lot went under ::) Thanks again for all your help :)
