Title: 1982 MAICO 490 Alpha 1
Post by: ted on February 23, 2008, 09:55:16 am
What is one worth in original condition?

Tha owners brother bought it new and onsold it to the owner. It has done bugger all work.

I am aware that they had some problems regarding linkage set up and castings on SOME bikes.

Have spoken to Les at Mainly Maico  he is pretty sure if it hasnt already busted shocks and cracked hubs ( it may have been built correctly ) it would make a handy pre 85 racer.

I am hoping to bring it to CD 5 to get Les, Firko or anybody that is familiar with this model to maybe have a look at it and give me an opinion.

Its not that i particularly like that model ( i have just built a 81 yz 465 from the ground up for EVO )...its just that i can get it for between 2K / 3K and i think it would be good to ride in pre 85
