Cool show, I think it's called American Pickers. It's amazing what people have hidden away in barns and sheds. It's on at 7.30, Friday nights on the Discovery Channel (Ithink, check to make sure). In one of the early episodes the boys found a pretty complete Yankee 500 and after the usual haggling got it for $400. I dig the tattoo'd office girl too (Danielle)

Yeah .. did you see him stand on the tank of the early SC or MX (Couldn't be sure but looked like SC or MX250 or 360) to get up to the top of the "rubbish pile"  ::)

I love the show and agree Nathan, my ideal occupation too, but I predict it's short lived as when people see what they pick the items for vs what they "value" or sell them at, they will catch on and that will make it harder to find the bargains.

Years ago I was driving through some farm country in the U.S with friends and we drove past a farm house that had an acre of dirtbikes stacked against each other.  My mate was driving and just blew past as I was going WTF.

Watched 2 hot women doing the same thing last night and turning it into furniture. They unearthed shed full of Harley Sprint 350s and proceeded to paint one gold and turn it into cocktail table.  ::) Some rock star bought it.

What time is it on and where? I only got to see a few episodes so the repeats will work for me. Great show both myself and my 10 year old boy love to watch together.

I love it too.
Reminds of an article I read in Old Bike Journal a few years ago about Route 66 Motorcycles. I can't remember the details, but they had a few trucks on the road full time, searching through sheds/barns for any old bikes.
It obviously worked as at the time they had 6 very low mileage Z900's in stock that they picked up out on the road.  :o

Now, that's my perfect job.  8)

I sort of get to do it a bit with my job we go to so many different houses so you always spot something even if they don't want to sell still good to see some of the things people still have especially cars and bikes one thing we found in a roof was a ww2 shotgun and the bloke said it is up there because it isn't able to be registered and it was his grandfathers so he didn't want to have it deloused.

Every Friday night, 8.30 on the A&E Channel. In fact, various episodes are repeated almost daily on A&E and sometimes the History channel.

I reckon some of the likely places maybe be out the back of South Aust with the trips made across the long paddock from back in the day.
So many cars and bikes etc left when broken down from that Trans Continant trip in the 50/60's  8)  :P

A show called Gasoline did a series of barn finds it was done on one property they wouldnt reveal its were abouts. In these chook sheds there was just about every muscle car aus produced. There was easy 40 cars which were pacers,gt falcons from xr to ho's,gtr toranas all the monaro's both 2 and 4 door in the later hq on,hq ss even a couple of rare 2 door ht-hg belmonts which were the same as monaro's but didn't have the gts guards or bonet and were only 6's.all cars were factory original and unrestored.

Its a pitty the scrap metal craze over the last few years decimated the aussie bike and car parts supply.
A couple of hundred a ton saw shitloads of cars bikes and machinery ground up for what?
Most of the boneheads that were collecting didn't give a rats and or didn't know half the stuff they had was worht a lot more than they actually received.

Been to vegas Pawn shop and it was interesting, Pickers I like to watch but why do only the 4 or 5 "main bidders" win everything? Haveyou ever seen any one else win a locker?
Because folks its reality TV =all staged!!
Eventually we will all tire of it like the Tutills and there choppers.
